N.C. State Drills 3s, Hammers Cougars At Rainbow Classic

Jennifer Howard made six 3-pointers in the first half and finished with 28 points Sunday as No. 13 North Carolina State routed Washington State 92-64 for fifth place in the Rainbow Wahine Classic in Honolulu.

Umeki Webb scored half of her 24 points in the first 20 minutes as the Wolfpack (2-1) raced off to a 44-26 lead at intermission.

For the Cougars (1-2), Kristin Erickson had 20 points and Jenni Ruff added 12 points and 10 rebounds.

The Cougars played the entire tournament without 6-foot-2 forward Amy Saneholtz after she injured a knee while practicing in Honolulu.
