Eric Fleming Receives Award For Leadership

Cadet Eric Fleming, a senior at Lewis and Clark State College and member of the University of Idaho’s Army ROTC program, recently received the Legion of Valor Bronze Cross for Achievement for demonstrated leadership potential.

Fleming was one of two cadets west of the Mississippi to receive this award, given to the top 1 percent of cadets nationwide.

The award is based on performance in military leadership, academic leadership and community and family.

Mathew Peppin, a Lake City High School student, was named a National Merit Scholarship Corporation Semi-finalist during the 41st-annual National Merit Scholarship Program.

Heather J. Krell, U.S. Air Force senior airman, has graduated from the airman leadership school at Yokota Air Base, Tokyo, Japan. The five-week course focuses on preparing senior airmen to become supervisors, managers and rating officials through training in leadership skills.

Krell, an aeromedical evacuation technician, is the daughter of Donnalee DeVita of Spokane and Gearls Krell of Old Town, Idaho.
