Shoshone Schools Searched For Drugs

Shoshone County investigators brought drug-sniffing dogs into a high school and junior high Friday because of the school district’s concerns about possible drug use.

No arrests were made after the searches Friday morning, Shoshone County Sheriff Dan Schierman said.

Some marijuana pipes, cigarettes and drug residue on mirrors were found at Wallace Senior High, Schierman said. Nothing was found at Silver Hills Middle School in Osburn, Idaho, the sheriff said.

“The schools just felt the need to have the search done and we brought the dogs in,” Schierman said. “The courts allow school officials to do searches anytime they feel a need.”
