Reception Connects Artists With Business Leaders
The Arts Committee of Spokane will present the 5th-annual Arts-Business Connection Reception at 5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 23, at the Cheney Cowles Museum, 2316 W. First.
The reception will showcase some of the area’s best musicians, actors, artists and poets, and will introduce them to members of the business community and the Spokane Chamber of Commerce leadership.

Artist donates prints
Seattle artist Karen Guzak has donated 12 of her prints, currently on display at the Spokane Falls Community College Art Gallery, to the college’s permanent art collection. The pieces are valued at $4,800.
Guzak’s work melds computer-generated designs with hand-drawn images.
Her art will be displayed through Oct. 27. Gallery hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
Fine art show and sale
The Palette and Brush Art Association, a nonprofit organization of local artists, will hold a fine art show and sale at Franklin Park Mall from Friday, Oct. 27, through Sunday, Oct. 29.

Art history class
Moses Lake’s Adam East Museum and Art Center will present “From Catacombs to Cristo: An Introduction to Art History” from 1 to 5 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 28.
Chris Fiala Erlich, museum director, will lead the class geared toward high school students and adults.
Erlich will cover major artists, styles and periods of European art history form the early Middle Ages to present times.

Auditions
The Rogue Players will hold auditions for the December production of “One Flew Over The Cookoo’s Nest” at 2 p.m. today, and at 7 p.m. Monday and Tuesday at the West Central Community Center, 1603 N. Belt.
