Get Quick Reading Fix With ‘Graphic Novels’
These days, who has the time to read a book? Why, just this week I’ve had to start a brochure on someplace here in Washington state, audition for seventh period drama AND run the mile.
Thankfully, some authors have decided to make it easier for us. The two authors I’m thinking of are Keith Brumpton and Rick Geary. Brumpton has written “Rudley Cabot in … The Quest for the Golden Carrot,” while Geary has told the story of “Jack the Ripper” once again. The difference? These are “graphic novels,” novels written in comic-book form.
“Rudley Cabot” is the tale of a rabbit who discovers a map used by his grandfather, who vanished in space along with his ship, The Golden Carrot. Rudley and Caba (his sister) go off in search of the spaceship, but they’re not alone. The evil Captain Weasel is also after The Golden Carrot.
It is a cute story, a little too young and WAY too cheesy the rabbit and carrot jokes just stink.
“Jack the Ripper” is the morbid tale of the killer in London. Most of you already probably know the tale, so I won’t waste paper telling you about it. If you don’t know it, read the book!
These books don’t take much time to read, so they’re a must.
