Idaho High School Fined

Compiled From Wire Services

Meridian High School has been fined $500 for using a football player who failed to meet academic eligibility standards.

But the state board governing high school athletics granted a hardship waiver to senior running back Jon Cramer so he could continue playing this season. It did not require Meridian to forfeit the three wins Cramer had a hand in so far but placed the school on a year’s probation. Meridian officials requested the waiver on grounds that Cramer acted in good faith when he attempted to meet the eligibility requirements.
