Cda Bank Robbed; Police Search For Man

From Staff And Wire Reports

Police are searching for a dark-haired, full-bearded white man who robbed a downtown bank Friday, walking out with an unspecified amount of money.

Police say the man walked into U.S. Bank on Third Street about 2 p.m. and demanded money from a female teller. She handed him cash and he walked out without incident.

Police declined to say if the money was marked or if the robber was filmed on bank cameras. The teller was “under the impression he had a weapon,” said Coeur d’Alene Police Lt. John Bassett.

Officers were still dusting for fingerprints at 3:30 p.m. Friday.

Police believe the suspect to be between 5-foot-8 and 5-foot-10, age 26 to 30, and 170 to 180 pounds. He was wearing a navy-colored baseball cap, navy-colored windbreaker and dark sweat pants.

Police ask anyone with information to call 769-2291.
