Naacp Director Search Is Delayed
The committee searching for a new executive director of the NAACP failed to submit a candidate’s name Saturday to the board of directors, saying it didn’t have time to interview all the applicants.
Lenny Springs, co-chairman of the committee, said the group hopes to submit a name by Dec. 1. More than 200 people have applied and some have been eliminated, he said.
The seven-member committee, made up of board members and civil rights activists outside the NAACP, began its search in July and was ordered then to present a candidate at Saturday’s meeting.
