Girl, 7, Assaulted On Way Home From School

From Staff And Wire Reports

A 7-year-old girl was abducted and sexually assaulted on her way home from school in this suburb between Seattle and Tacoma, King County police said.

Police spokesman Jerrell Wills said officers were seeking a thin man in his 20s with a mustache, seen driving a light blue older-model small pickup truck at the time of the attack Wednesday.

The girl told officers she was walking with a schoolmate from Twin Lakes Elementary until the boy turned off for home. Soon afterward the man appeared from some brush, forced her into his truck, drove away and assaulted her.

She was left along Washington 99, Pacific Highway South, where she was found wandering and crying by a passerby. The girl was taken to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle, where she was treated and released to her family.
