Donald Elliott Mullan, Idaho

Private family service will be held later for Donald Franklin Elliott, 58, who died Wednesday at Silver Valley Medical Center in Silverton, Idaho. Shoshone Funeral Service in Wallace is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Elliott was born in Chicago and married Marge Meadows in Missouri in 1961.

He lived most of his life in the Silver Valley and had worked at the Galena Mine and as a diamond driller for Nichols Diamond Drilling.

He had also worked as a truck driver for Zanetti Brothers for 23 years and was the owner/operator of Don’s towing service in Mullan for 35 years.

Mr. Elliott enjoyed his business and loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his five brothers and sisters.

Survivors include his wife, at home; six sons, Les and Wes Simpson, both of Redmond , Ore., Steve Elliott of Elko, Nev., and David, Jeff and Chris Elliott, all of Mullan; two brothers, Bill Elliott of Phoenix, Ariz., and Loyd Huddleston of Eugene, Ore.; sister, Ethel DeClue of Missouri; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be sent to the Mullan Volunteer Ambulance or the Kidney Foundation.

Victor Johnson Lind, Wash.

Graveside service for Victor H. Johnson, 90, will be at 3 p.m. Saturday at Riverside Memorial Park in Spokane. Danekas Funeral Home in Ritzville, Wash., is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Johnson, a former Spokane resident, died Wednesday at Life Care Center in Ritzville.

He was born in Faith, Minn.

He and his wife, Florence, moved to Spokane in 1935 and he worked for Kenworth Co., and B & B Trucking as a diesel mechanic. He retired in 1974.

They moved to Lind in 1982. His wife died in 1984.

He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Lind, the Ritzville Masonic Lodge No. 101, the Sage Shrine Club and El Katif Shrine Temple of Spokane, the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers.

He is survived by one son, Gary Johnson of Lind; three granddaughters and five great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to United Methodist Church of Lind or to Shriner’s Hospital for Crippled Children.

William Bozarth Spokane

Funeral Mass for William G. Bozarth, 82, will be at 10 a.m. today at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Otis Orchards. Burial will be at Fairview Cemetery in Rockford. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Bozarth, who was born in Fairfield, died Wednesday.

He worked for Union Pacific Railroad for 41 years and retired in 1978 as an engineer.

He was a member of the Union Pacific Old Timers, the Valley Eagles and St. Joseph’s Parish.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Margaret Bozarth; three sons, Donald Bozarth of Boardman, Ore., Michael Bozarth of Mansfield, Wash., and Patrick Bozarth of Spokane; six daughters, Virginia Adams of Danbury, Conn., Maureen Borek of Gig Harbor, Wash., Teresa Reed of Seatac, Wash., Rebecca Johnstone of Fulton, Mo., Mary Earle of Spokane and Roberta Gollob of Monroe, Wash.; 22 grandsons, six granddaughters and 15 great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Joseph Catholic Church Building Fund or Fairview Cemetery in Rockford.

Phyllis Hinnenkamp Spokane

Vigil service for Phyllis J. Hinnenkamp, 75, is set for 7 p.m. today at Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be at 9 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral. Burial will be at Colfax (Wash.) Cemetery at noon Saturday.

Miss Hinnenkamp, who died Wednesday, was born in Colfax and graduated from Colfax High School.

She worked as a telephone operator for more then 30 years.

She was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Cathedral and the Telephone Operators Pioneers.

Miss Hinnenkamp is survived by two sisters, Mary Ann Sheer of Spokane and Dorothy Hinnenkamp of Sacramento, Calif.

Brian Fuchs Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Brian Lee Fuchs, 33, will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene.

Mr. Fuchs, who was born in Bismarck, N.D., died Wednesday at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d’Alene.

He moved to Coeur d’Alene with his parents in 1969 and graduated from Coeur d’Alene High School in 1981. After graduating, he worked for Northwest Timber until its closure.

He went on to attend welding courses at North Idaho College for one year and then worked for Harvey’s Machine Shop.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge Aerie No. 486 and enjoyed dancing. He loved fishing, camping, boating and waterskiing.

Survivors include his parents, Harold and Mavis Fuchs of Coeur d’Alene; two brothers, Gary Fuchs of Portland and Jeff Fuchs of Hayden; one sister, Roberta Roberts of Kellogg; his grandmother, Mabel Fuchs of Elgin, N.D.; and two nieces and one nephew.

Joyce Johnson Kellogg

Private family service for Joyce M. Johnson, 64, will be held at a later date. Shoshone Funeral Service in Kellogg is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Johnson, who was a lifelong Kellogg resident, died Wednesday at Shoshone Medical Center in Kellogg.

She graduated from Kellogg High School in 1948 and went on to attend Lewis and Clark State College. She later became the secretary for Kellogg High School.

She married Glenn Johnson in Phoenix, Ariz., in 1951.

Survivors include her husband, at home; one son, Ryan Johnson of Boise; one daughter, Connie Holthaus of Libby, Mont.; and two grandchildren.

William Baker Spokane

Service for William E. Baker, 75, will be at 1 p.m. today at Glad Tidings Assembly of God. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hennessey-Smith Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Baker, who died Wednesday, was born in Potlatch, Idaho.

He worked for Potlatch Forest Inc. until he entered the Army during World War II. Following the war he moved to Spokane and worked as a carpenter.

He was a member of the Carpenters Union No. 98 and the National Rifle Association.

His first wife, Pauline Howard, preceded him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth Baker; one son, William Baker of Monroe, Wash.; one daughter, Paulette Goltiani of Spokane; three stepdaughters, Diane Froese and Donna Hendrix, both of Spokane, and Katherine Miller of Rice, Wash.; two sisters, Geneiva Query of Nampa, Idaho, and Helen Johnstone of Medford, Ore.; five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and several stepgrandchildren and stepgreat-grandchildren.

Fred Irvine Spokane

Graveside service for Fred C. Irvine, 90, is set for 1 p.m. Saturday at Spokane Memorial Gardens. Thornhill Valley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Irvine, who died Sunday, was born in Hamilton, Wash.

He worked for the Spokane Water Department for 25 years and retired in 1970.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ruby Irvine; one son, Freddie Dale of Spokane; two daughters, Dorothy Powell and Mona Potvin, both of Spokane; one brother, Ed Irvine of Salem, Ore.; two sisters, Minnie Williams and Eva Adair, both of Mount Vernon, Wash.; 13 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

Florence Gerlach Spokane

Service for Florence Eleanor Gerlach, 98, is set for 3 p.m. today at First Church of the Nazarene. Burial will follow at Fairmount Memorial Park. Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Gerlach, who died Wednesday at her daughter’s home, was born in La Center, Wash.

She had been a primary schoolteacher in Boise for 15 years.

She and her husband moved to Spokane in 1938. He died in 1949.

A member of First Church of the Nazarene, she was an office manager in Spokane until she retired in 1964.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia Fredericksen of Spokane; four granddaughters and nine great-grandchildren.

Robert Deschane Spokane

No service will be held for Robert J. Deschane, 66, at his request. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Deschane, who died Monday, was born in Green Bay, Wis.

He moved to Spokane in the 1940s and graduated from Gonzaga Law School.

He was an attorney and legal adviser and retired in 1978.

Mr. Deschane is survived by wife of 39 years, Theresa Deschane; one son, Dale Deschane of Twin Falls, Idaho; one daughter, Laurie Deschane of Spokane; three sisters, Sr. Carol Deschane of Seattle, Rita Bates of Kent, Wash., and Mariellen Larson of Lynwood, Wash.; two brothers, Rollin Deschane of Tacoma and James Deschane of Woodinville, Wash.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.

Austra Grunte Spokane

No service will be held for Austra M. Grunte, 81, at her request. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South, is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Grunte, who died Wednesday, was born in Latvia.

She moved to Germany in 1944 and immigrated to Spokane in 1950 through the Lutheran Church.

She graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing in 1956 and was a registered nurse and administrative head nurse at Sacred Heart Hospital until she retired in 1979.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Peter Grunte; one son, Peter Grunte of Spokane; and two granddaughters.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Sister Peter Claver Memorial Fund, in care of Sacred Heart Medical Center Development Fund, or to Deaconess Medical Center.

Margie Mosely Spokane

Service for Margie M. Mosely, 86, will be at 11 a.m. today at Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church with burial at Greenwood Memorial Terrace. Ball and Dodd Funeral Home-South is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mosely, who died Monday, was born in Charleston, S.C. and moved to Spokane in the 1950s.

She worked at the dry cleaners at Fairchild Air Force Base and retired in the 1970s. She later worked as a seamstress out of her home.

She was a member of Sheliah Chapter 18 Order of the Eastern Star and the Morning Star Baptist Church.

Her husband, Charles, died in 1984.

She is survived by several cousins including, L.C. and Robert Molett, both of Spokane.

Lois McTigue Spokane

Service for Lois E. McTigue, 74, is set for 10 a.m. today at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mrs. McTigue, who died Tuesday, was born in Rice, Wash., and was a homemaker.

She was a member of Ivanhoe Chapter 80 Order of Eastern Star.

Her husband, Gus McTigue, died in 1985.

She is survived by one daughter, Tina Anderson of Spokane; one son, Brian McTigue of Nine Mile Falls; one brother, Lorn Cox of Spokane; two grandchildren and three great-grandsons.

Rose Pettit Granite, Idaho

Graveside service for Rose E. Pettit, 75, will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mountain View Cemetery in Athol, Idaho. Coffelt Funeral Service in Sandpoint is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Pettit, who was born in Three Oaks, Mich., died Tuesday in Granite.

She moved to Granite in 1933 and attended Bonner County schools.

She married Russell Pettit in Coeur d’Alene in 1937. She had worked at Don’s Drive In in Sandpoint and the Country Corner Mercantile in Athol.

Mrs. Pettit had lived in various parts of the Northwest, including Oregon, Washington and Montana.

She enjoyed crocheting, quilting, cooking and baking.

She was preceded in death by a sister and one granddaughter.

Survivors include her husband, at home; one son, Irving Pettit of Hayden Lake; one daughter, Arlene Crystal of Plains, Mont.; one brother, Roy Campbell of Lodi, Calif.; three sisters, Lavonna Croxen and Ardeath Riley, both of Yountville, Calif., and Roberta Whitely of Shandon, Calif.; one aunt, May Lockyer of Coeur d’Alene; six grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
