Cleveland came back after closer Jose Mesa (3-0) gave up a tying grand slam to Ron Tingley of the Tigers in the ninth. Mesa, who began the season by successfully converting 38 straight save chances, has blown two in the last 10 days against Detroit.
The Indians won for the 25th time in their last at-bat in the 10th.
