Letters To The Editor

Use fringe adjectives

Although I never read any Rich Landers column or article, I noticed in your Sunday paper of Sept. 3 a letter from James B. Trull of Spokane, who observed that Mr. Landers used the phrase “right-wing wackos.”

If Landers is going to use adjectives such as this, I wish he would put in all the standard applicable adjectives. Remember, conservatives can never simply be conservatives or people with whom he disagrees. If Landers wants to get into the business of using adjectives to describe these conservatives with whom he disagrees, let’s go all the way. People with whom Landers disagrees must be right-wing religious fringe-group fanatical extremist conservative wackos. And it’s OK that the people calling them these names are left-wing anti-religious fanatical extremist fringe-group bleeding-heart politically correct liberal media wackos. Let’s make sure we use all the available adjectives when commenting on those with whom we disagree.
