I.E. Hall To Add Eight Class Of 1995 Includes Meili, Washburn, Coaches And ‘Voice’
Olympic gold medalist shooter Launi Meili and former Whitworth College and St. Louis Cardinals baseball star Ray Washburn will be inducted into Inland Northwest Hall of Fame on Oct. 11.
The Hall of Fame class of 1995 also includes coaching legends Elmer Jordan of Coeur d’Alene and Gene Smith of Reardan, University of Idaho broadcaster Bob Curtis and longtime coach and administrator Hank Coplen.
Boxing coach Tom Lefebvre and the late Gus Bouten, who owned Spokane hockey teams on three separate occasions, will be added to the Scroll of Honor.
The Hall of Fame is sponsored by the Greater Spokane Sports Association and will be moving into new quarters at the Spokane Veterans Arena in time for induction ceremonies, GSSA chairman Jon Heimbigner said.
Rosauers Supermarkets Inc. is the corporate sponsor of the new Hall of Fame in the Arena.
Induction ceremonies, open to the public, will begin at 9:45 a.m. Oct. 11 at the Arena. A no-host social hour at 11 and noon luncheon follow at the Ridpath Hotel.
