Meadows May Not Run
The horse racing season at Portland Meadows appears to be in jeopardy after two members of the Oregon Racing Commission said the track may not get its license when the commission meets Thursday.
Portland Meadows is seeking to open for simulcasting - televised racing from other horse and greyhound tracks with wagering at Portland Meadows - on Oct. 4 and live racing on Oct. 7.
Concerns were raised about Vancouver, Wash., businessmen Gene Ferryman and Darrell Lee, majority stockholders in Portland Meadows who have been at odds for several years.
