Dressage Clinic At Equestrian Center
One of the top dressage riders in the United States, Steffen Peters, will conduct a clinic this weekend at the Marshland Equestrian Center south of Spokane.
Dressage is a form of riding in which the rider directs the horse through a series of difficult steps and gaits. The rider communicates with the horse through slight movements in his hands, seat and legs.
Peters, a national dressage champion, is an Olympic Festival Gold Medal winner. Originally from Germany, he now lives in San Diego.
The clinic runs from 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Friday through Sunday. The cost is $15 per day, or $35 for three days. For Inland Northwest Dressage Association members, the cost is $10 and $25.
The Marshland Equestrian Center is located 15 minutes south of Spokane.
Take Highway 195 south. Go west on Spokane-Cheney Road 5 miles. Turn south at Gardner Road. The center is located 2.2 miles south on the east side of the road.
