A guide for homeowners on how to protect homes from radon is now available in public libraries throughout Idaho.

The state Health & Welfare Department distributed the book with money from an Environmental Protection Agency grant.

Radon is a naturally occurring radioactive gas that has been linked to lung cancer. The book is a do-it-yourself guide on how to detect radon and minimize risks.
