Here’s Your Chance To Be A TV Journalist

Don’t forget about the CNN Student Video Journalist Challenge - you could win $1,000 and an allexpense paid trip to the CNN Center in Atlanta.

Here’s the scoop: Any middle or high school student can form a production team to produce and submit a two-minute news, sports or lifestyle story. Your work will be judged against other entries from the West and three grand finalists will be chosen from the regional winners.

For complete information, call TESI at 800-251-0176 for a free entry kit. The deadline is Dec. 1.

College cash: It’s never too soon to start thinking about scholarships. In fact, it’s almost too late!

Scholarship deadlines are fast approaching (most between December and March), so here are a few from the Daughters of the American Revolution that came our way:

The Alice W. Rooke Scholarship ($5,000 annually for medical students).

The American History Scholarship ($2,000 annually for students majoring in American history).

Caroline E. Holt Nursing Scholarship and the Madeline Pickett Cogswell Nursing Scholarship (each offers $500 for nursing students).

Irene and Daisy MacGregor Memorial Scholarship ($5,000 annually for study of psychiatric nursing or medicine).

Lillian and Arthur Dunn Scholarship ($1,000 annually to students whose mothers are current DAR members).

Occupational Therapy Scholarship ($500 to $1,000 to students studying occupational or physical therapy).

There are more, including four Washington State scholarships available. Call Carmen Hagman at 838-1502 for complete information and applications.
