Journalism Workshop At Nic
Pack journalism at its best will be on display Monday at North Idaho College when professional journalists share tips of the trade with the region’s high school students.
“Thrills and Skills,” a free workshop for Inland Northwest high school students, will feature Pulitzer Prize-winning reporter Eric Nalder of the Seattle Times as the keynote speaker.
The all-day workshop will bring together regional print and broadcast journalists in 11 sessions designed to inform and inspire students considering a media career.
Approximately 300 students from North Idaho, Western Montana and Eastern Washington are expected to attend. All sessions also are open to the public.
The conference includes a media ethics panel discussion and a session on student press law.
The conference is sponsored by the North Idaho chapter of the Idaho Press Club and NIC’s Journalism Department. Helping with the cost of the conference are the publishers of The Idaho Spokesman-Review and The Coeur d’Alene Press.
