Micron Workers Share Record $28 Million

From Staff And Wire Reports

Micron Technology has doled out $28 million in profit-sharing funds to its 6,300 employees in the Treasure Valley, the largest amount ever paid by the Boise-based computer chip manufacturer in a single quarter.

Company spokesman Kipp Bedard would not discuss individual payments, but if the quarter’s profits were distributed equally, each employee would get about $4,460.

Micron distributes 10 percent of each quarter’s profits, Bedard said. Everyone who has worked at the company six months or more receives a minimum payment, and an additional amount is paid based on salary.
