Dawn Blount Spokane

No service will be held for Dawn E. Blount, at her request. Hazen and Jaeger Valley Funeral Home is is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Blount, who was born in Australia, died Friday. She was 72.

She married William Blount in 1944 in Australia, where he was serving during World War II.

They moved to the Coeur d’Alene area in 1945 and moved to Spokane shortly after that.

She was a member of the Anzaz Club.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, William Blount; two sons, Trevor and Robert Blount both of Spokane, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Spokane.

Linnea Simpson Federal Way, Wash.

Service for Linnea Wilhelmina Simpson, 87, will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hazen and Jaeger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Fairmount Memorial Park.

Born in LaConner, Wash., Mrs. Simpson died Thursday.

She was a former 50-year Spokane resident and had lived in Federal Way for nine years.

She had worked as a waitress and was a member of the Rebekah Lodge.

She is survived by one daughter, Jacqueline Wittenberg of Tacoma; one sister, Lily Young of Bellingham, Wash.; and two grandchildren.

Vira Hurlbut Sandpoint

Service for Vira Lucille Hurlbut, 86, will be today at 10 a.m. at Coffelt’s Moon Chapel in Sandpoint. Coffelt Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hurlbut, who was born in Rock Springs, Wyo., died Friday.

She graduated from high school in Rock Springs and moved to Spokane in 1948. She later lived in Alaska before moving to Sandpoint in 1993.

Mrs. Hurlbut enjoyed playing golf and bridge.

She was preceded in death by her husband.

Survivors include a daughter, Shirley Chatfield of Sandpoint; one granddaughter, Cynthia Dilts of Sandpoint; and two great-grandchildren, Michael and Scott Dilts, both of Sandpoint.

Gloria Longo Hayden Lake, Idaho

Graveside service for Gloria Marion Longo, 72, will be today at 10 a.m. at St. Thomas Catholic Cemetery in Coeur d’Alene. English Funeral Chapel of Coeur d’Alene is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Longo, who was born in Brooklyn, N.Y. and moved to North Idaho 19 years ago, died Thursday. She was a registered nurse and was a member of the Army Nurse Corps.

Mrs. Longo enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and sewing and crocheting. She was an avid gardener.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred. Survivors include two sons, Alfred and Wayne Longo, both of Coeur d’Alene; a daughter, Francine Longo of Hayden; a brother, Frank Pizza of New York; and two grandchildren.
