Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Have you ever pulled the car into the garage too far or not far enough for the garage door to close?

A simple solution is to position the car just right, then hang a string with a metal washer or a bead tied to the end so that it just touches the car’s windshield.

Now each time you pull into the garage, just pull up until the bead or washer touches the windshield. - Lorraine Diehl, Tempe, Ariz.

Dear Heloise: I have found a couple of uses for the dryer static-cling sheets. I use them as interfacings or backing on sewing articles that need reinforcement.

I also use them as a backing for embroidery - works well. - Doris Eubanks, Kingwood, Texas

I love those dryer sheets. They can be recycled in so many ways. Thanks for sharing your idea. - Heloise
