Washington State Patrol troopers seized one pound of methamphetamine and 30 pounds of marijuana after stopping a speeding car south of Ritzville Friday.

The driver, Roy W. Frazier, 50, and passenger Tracy A. DeGeorgio, 29, both of Great Falls, Mont., were arrested three miles south of Ritzville on U.S. Highway 395, WSP reported.

Each was booked into the Adams County Jail on charges of possession with intent to manufacture or deliver methamphetamine and marijuana.

Sgt. Kris Boness stopped the 1977 Chevrolet Nova for speeding and failure to wear seat belts. Once he reached the car, he smelled marijuana.

Frazier gave Boness permission to search the car, the state patrol said. The drugs were found hidden in the back seat side panels.
