Parish, 42, Sets Mark For Games

Robert Parish broke Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s NBA record for career games played and the Charlotte Hornets boosted their playoff chances with a 93-89 victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday night in Cleveland.

Larry Johnson and Kenny Anderson each scored 20 points as the Hornets moved a half-game ahead of Miami for the last playoff spot in the Eastern Conference.

The 42-year-old Parish, who played in his 1,561st game in his 20th season, played 39 minutes and scored 14 points on 6-of-9 shooting. He had nine rebounds, four assists and three blocked shots.
