Jewelry Made From Treasure Offered For Sale
The dreams of a lot of children are filled with romantic tales of pirates and buried treasure. These days, it’s nearly impossible to go out and find your own, so Jack Mange will bring it to you.
Mange is the owner of Treasure Sales Inc., which sells jewelry made from silver recovered from the Spanish Galleon Antocha. The ship sank off the Florida Keys in 1622.
What’s more, each piece of jewelry has an authentic design, made from molds of coins and jewelry recovered from the wreck. Prices start at $30.
The jewelry is made from silver ingots, large bars of silver weighing as much as 80 pounds each. Mange says he uses three or four of the bars every year.
History lovers will be able to purchase some of Mange’s jewelry when he make his appearance at area JC Penney stores this week. A 35-pound ingot will also be on display. “The people who come in to see this are interested in history and antiquity,” says Mange.
“It’s just like shaking hands with history,” he says. “Not only did I want the pieces to be authentic and beautiful, I wanted them to be high quality and affordable.”
Mange will be at the JC Penney store in the Silver Lake Mall in Coeur d’Alene from 10 a.m to 5 p.m. on Thursday. He will also be at University City Mall from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Friday and at NorthTown Mall from noon to 5 p.m. on Saturday.
