Local UI Students Honored With Awards

Several local University of Idaho students were honored recently.

Zahrah Sheikh, a Moscow senior, won the school’s Guy Wicks Award for outstanding senior woman.

Sheikh, a child, family and consumer relations major and daughter of Ismat Sheikh of Moscow, is active in the Associated Students. She also received the George E. Dafoe Memorial Award and the Frank W. Childs IV Memorial Award.

Lisa Peite, an English major and daughter of Anthony Peite of Mullan, received the Multicultural Student Award.

Outstanding senior awards went to Phillip David, a Moscow music major; Tristan Trotter, a Moscow English major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Trotter; Clayton Wolking, a Moscow accounting major; and Michael Nelson, an English major and son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Nelson, Troy.

Holly Wichman, an associate professor of biology, received the Outstanding Faculty Award, and David Mucci, director of the Student Union, received the James A. Barnes Memorial Award.
