Switched-At-Birth Teen Reported Missing
Kimberly Mays Twigg, the switched-at-birth teenager who garnered national attention when she received permission to “divorce” her biological parents and live with the man who had raised her from birth, has been reported missing.
The 17-year-old went out for pizza with a friend Tuesday and hasn’t been seen since, her mother told police. Sometime after the “divorce,” the girl changed her mind and moved in with her biological parents.
Kimberly left the pizza parlor in a blue vehicle with a woman in her 20s with bleached-blond hair, according to police. Her mother found a note saying she wasn’t running away, but just needed some time away, the report said.
Mays said he had been in contact with Kimberly last week and there were no plans for a reconciliation, the Sarasota Herald Tribune reported Saturday.
