Eagles Drenched By Storms

A series of heavy rain showers that blew through the region Tuesday afternoon washed out Eastern Washington University’s opening day of spring football practice.

The rains, according to coach Mike Kramer, left the team’s practice field too soggy to use and a leaky roof on Thorpe Fieldhouse prevented the Eagles from moving indoors.

Kramer said spring drills will open today at 3 p.m., with additional afternoon workouts scheduled Thursday and Friday.

The Eagles will hold their first spring scrimmage Saturday morning at 11.
