Lawrence Will Leave ‘Nypd Blue’

Sharon Lawrence will leave ABC’s “NYPD Blue” as a full-timer after this season.

Lawrence, who plays assistant D.A. Sylvia Costas, pregnant wife of Det. Andy Sipowicz (Dennis Franz), will appear in the first 13 of 22 ordered episodes, a spokeswoman for producer Steven Bochco confirms. (Lawrence has been missing from most story lines this season.)

Lawrence will return for three more segments, and will be available in following seasons as a guest star, the spokeswoman adds.

Lawrence reportedly is negotiating with Kelsey Grammer’s production company about starring in a sitcom.

She’ll also headline two TV flicks.
