FROM FOR THE RECORD (Wednesday, April 24, 1996): The meeting of the Inland Northwest Treasury Management Association has been rescheduled for noon April 30 at the Shilo Inn, 923 E. Third. A notice in Sunday’s Business Beat column gave an incorrect date.

NEW FACES:

The law firm of Ramsden & Lyons in Coeur d’Alene announced two additions to its staff:

Brian Watkins, formerly a prosecutor for Kootenai County, received his law degree from Gonzaga University. Watkins has practiced law for more than five years.

Brian Long, formerly with the public defenders office, graduated from the University of Idaho Law School. He has practiced law for more than four years.

Ken Olson has joined Silverwood Theme Park as food and beverage manager. Olson, who earned a degree in hotel restaurant management from North Idaho College, previously worked as a chef at Cedar’s Floating Restaurant and at Silver Mountain Resort.

Suzanne Knapp was appointed governmental affairs coordinator for the Spokane Home Builders Association and the Spokane Association of Realtors. Knapp has 10 years of experience within the residential construction industry.

Jim Williams was appointed membership services coordinator for the Spokane Home Builders Association. Williams is a founding board member of the Spokane Public Facilities District, which built the new Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena.

Harris-Dean Insurance, Coeur d’Alene, has hired Greg Helbling to handle employee benefits. Helbling’s background includes more than eight years as district manager for Blue Cross of Idaho.

Chic Carson has joined Windermere Real Estate/Leroy Johnson Inc. as a sales associate. Carson has 16 years of real estate experience and previously worked with James S. Black and Tomlinson Black.

Pat Closson joined John Beutler & Associates Real Estate in Coeur d’Alene as a sales associate. She previously worked at the University of Washington and Michigan State University and has held various sales and consulting jobs.

MOVING UP:

Brady Cass has been promoted to communication services manager with QualMed Health Plan. Cass, who is responsible for membership services and member communication, has been with QualMed for four years as an account executive.

Snyder’s Bakery promoted Larry Craven to regional sales manager. Craven will manage the Yakima, Wenatchee, Moses Lake and Okanogan sales divisions. Prior to his promotion, Craven was sales supervisor and branch manager.

Brendan Lenihan was named regional sales manager for the Inland Northwest for The Coeur d’Alene Resort. Lenihan has worked for the resort since 1992, most recently as reservations manager and operations manager.

STARTING UP:

Make-A-Wish Foundation of Washington State has opened an Eastern Washington office in the Paulsen Building. Judy Rogers was hired to lead volunteer recruiting efforts and develop new sources for granting wishes to children with life-threatening illnesses in Eastern Washington.

NORTHSTAR Consulting now offers computer management and support services for small to midsized businesses in the Spokane area. The business is owned and operated by Russell Ehr, who has more than 10 years of computer and networking experience. Ehr previously was computer systems manager and an associate with Integrus Architecture.

Vanessa Behan Crisis Nursery elected six new members to its board of directors: Paul Hawkins, president and owner, Hawkins Edwards Inc.; Craig Korthase, vice president and manager of Trust Services, U.S. Bank; Teresa Sherman, attorney; Karen Utheim, coordinator of child and family services, Community Mental Health; Karen Werme, regional vice president, Action Mortgage; and Teresa “T.J.” Tombari.

Grant County Economic Development Council elected the following board members and officers for 1996: New board members: David Mauk, Columbia Management Group; Dr. William Bonaudi, Big Bend Community College; and Curt Morris, Quincy Port Commissioner.

Re-elected board members: Jeff Krug, Skills Resource & Training Center; Mike Conley, Port of Mattawa; Don Godard, Grant County PUD; Dean Hagerty, Grant County PUD commissioner; and LeRoy Allison, Grant County commissioner.
