Help Needed To Work On New Substation

Community policing organizers in the Nevada-Lidgerwood neighborhood are asking for volunteers to help build their neighborhood police substation.

Work on the project is scheduled from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday at the building site, 4705 N. Addison.

The neighborhood has gutted two homes and will connect them to make a permanent home for their volunteer policing activities.

All the lumber is cut and will be at the site. Workers Saturday will spend the day framing and should bring gloves and a hammer.

Lunch will be provided.
