Hints From Heloise

King Features Syndicate

Dear Heloise: Here is a hint I learned from my Eagle Scout son. After returning from a camp-out, he needed his uniform washed for an important meeting that evening. I was sure there was no way to get the smell of the camp fire smoke out of it by then. He told me a hint he had read in his Scout magazine - that I add vinegar to the wash water.

It worked! In fact, I used it to get the grease smell out of my work uniforms. I just pour some vinegar into the bleach dispenser in my machine and it worked wonders on the smells. - Janis Wright, Wapakoneta, Ohio

Vinegar is one of the most versatile products around. I have compiled a pamphlet full of great money-saving hints and uses for vinegar. If you would like one, please send $2 and a long, self-addressed, stamped (55 cents) envelope to: Heloise/Vinegar, PO Box 79500l, San Antonio TX 79279-5001. - Heloise
