C.O.P.S. Northeast Holding 3rd Anniversary Celebration
C.O.P.S. Northeast is holding its third anniversary celebration this morning at its headquarters on North Market Street in Hillyard.
U.S. Rep. George Nethercutt, Mayor Jack Geraghty, Spokane Police Chief Terry Mangan and other dignitaries will be among the guests at the 9 a.m. open house at 5208 N. Market.
The community policing organization has logged more than 10,000 volunteer hours in the past year, taken some 2,000 telephone calls and handled about 400 complaints.
Those attending today’s event will get a chance to meet Hillyard’s new neighborhood resource officer, Larry House, who will replace Percy Watkins. Watkins is taking a new assignment with the police department.
