Hiking

One of the most noteworthy waterfalls in the Okanogan National Forest is on Cedar Creek northwest of Winthrop.

A 45-minute hike on a fairly flat Trail No. 476 to Cedar Falls leads through a forest timbered with ponderosa pine, Douglas fir, aspen and cedar.

The trailhead is west of the North Cascades Highway, about a mile off the Early Winters Creek Road between Early Winters and Klipchuck campgrounds.

Info: Okanogan National Forest, Winthrop District, (509) 996-2266.
