Nellie Chapman St. Maries

Service for Nellie G. Chapman, 92, will be held Monday at 1 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery in Spokane. Yates-Hodge Funeral Home in St. Maries is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Chapman, who was born in Palouse, Wash., died Thursday.

She grew up in Palouse and Portland, before moving to Ritzville, Wash., where she graduated from high school in 1922.

Mrs. Chapman was a homemaker and had lived in Spokane and Chewelah, Wash., before returning to Spokane. She moved to St. Maries in 1992.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd, in 1978.

She was a Catholic.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Egart, Lois Conner, Marjorie Fenter and Dorothy Wood, all of Harrison; 12 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

Cliff Mallet Coeur d’Alene

Memorial service for Cliff A. Mallet, 59, will be held Monday at Yates Funeral Home in Coeur d’Alene.

Mr. Mallet, who was born in California, died Wednesday.

He grew up and attended schools in California, graduating from high school in Fallon, Nev. He went on to serve two years with the Army and returned to California after his military service.

Mr. Mallet worked as a painting contractor in California before moving to Harrison, Idaho, in 1982. He moved to Coeur d’Alene in 1995.

He was a member of Bethel Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Georgene; four sons, Rick Mallet of Rathdrum, Idaho, Gary Mallet of California, and Michael and Jimmy Mallet, both of Coeur d’Alene; one brother, Wilfred Mallet of Coeur d’Alene; and three grandchildren.

Herbert Henke Spokane

Service for Herbert N. “Herb” Henke, 78, is set for 10 a.m. Monday at Riplinger Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Riverside Memorial Park.

Mr. Henke died Thursday at home.

He was born in Canada and graduated from Newport (Wash.) High School.

He served in the military during World War II, 1943-1946.

In 1960 he married Jane Nichols and moved to Spokane.

He worked for Bonneville Power Company in and retired in 1979.

He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1474 and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He is survived by his wife; a son, Ken Henke of Spokane; a stepson, Donald Nichols of San Antonio, Texas; four brothers, Dellas Henke of Rochester, N.Y., Dale Henke of Oldtown, Idaho, Carl Henke of Spokane and Cliff Henke of Goldendale, Wash.; a granddaughter and a great-grandson.
