County Libraries Not Affected By Closings

Spokane County libraries will be open normal hours next week.

People have been confusing the county libraries with the city system, which is closed next week for budget reasons.

The Spokane County Library District is an independent district, separate from the city system.

“We’ll be open for business and all of our usual services will be available,” said Mike Wirt, the county library director.

County libraries are located in the Spokane Valley and Whitworth area in suburban Spokane and the communities of Airway Heights, Cheney, Deer Park, Fairfield and Medical Lake. , DataTimes
