Newcomer Sac St. Ranked To Win Sky

Cal State-Sacramento, debuting in the Big Sky Conference this fall, was picked by league coaches to win the 1996 women’s volleyball title.

The Hornets received 48 points and six first-place votes in the poll.

Following in order were: Northern Arizona, 37; Montana State, 31; Montana, 30; Weber State, 26; Idaho State, 23; Eastern Washington, 15; Cal State-Northridge, 14.

Sac State returns five starters from a 35-4 squad that was runner-up in the National Invitational Volleyball Championships.
