Hints From Heloise
Dear Heloise: When trying to type a form today, I found that the box at the end of the page was very difficult to complete because there wasn’t enough paper left to be held in the “grasp” of the plate. We attached large self-sticking notes across the bottom, thus “extending” the paper so it would not move in the typewriter. After completing the last box, we removed the self-sticking notes and there was no residue or damage to the form. - Pat Webb, Colorado Springs, Colo.
Dear Heloise: Cake carrying can be pretty messy for us seniors, especially if they’re like me: accident prone.
I use the cut-off box used for four six-packs of beer or pop. It’s perfect - large with an edge around it. My cakes are usually in a large oblong foil tin. They fit perfectly and ride great in the car. It also works for smaller cakes. - Mrs. Jessie A. Speen, Auburn, N.Y.
