Playhouse Presenting ‘Christmas Pageant’
Those rotten Herdman kids will be running rampant in the “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” at the Lake City Playhouse in Coeur d’Alene beginning Friday.
Carmen Jackson directs this version of Barbara Robinson’s Christmas classic, in which the meanest kids in town disrupt the church’s annual Christmas pageant, but then eventually help show everyone the true meaning of Christmas.
The show runs Friday through Sunday and Dec. 13-15. Friday and Saturday shows are at 8 p.m., Sunday shows at 2 p.m.

‘A Home for Christmas’
The Valley Repertory Theatre Children’s Workshop Group will stage a “A Home for Christmas,” about a group of students who discover their new classmate is a homeless girl, Friday through Dec. 15.
The show will run at the Valley Rep, at the corner of Sprague and Pines. Showtimes are 8 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, 2 p.m. on Sundays, and 7:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday.

‘Christmas Blue’
Local writer-composer-actor Valentino Jiminez presents his own one-act Christmas musical, “Christmas Blue,” this weekend at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 5720 S. Perry.
In this story, Little Tiny Gus and Forest White Rabbit find the true meaning of Christmas.
Showtimes are 2 p.m. Saturday and 7 p.m. Sunday. A $1 donation is requested for the Saturday show, and a $2 donation for the Sunday show, which includes cookies, Christmas punch and a sing-along after the show.
‘Festival of One Act Plays’
The Whitworth College Theatre Department presents a four-day “Festival of One Act Plays” Monday through Thursday at Stage II of the Cowles Auditorium on campus.
This will consist of one-acts directed by students from an upper-division directing class taught by Rick Hornor.
Admission is free. Showtimes are 7 p.m. each night.
‘A Bed Full of Foreigners’
The Spokane Community College Players present a special dinner theater production of the comedy “A Bed Full of Foreigners” at 8 p.m. Friday at the SCC Lair-Students Center, 1810 N. Greene.
It’s a comedy about the misadventures of two tourists driving through France on vacation.
A reception begins at 6 p.m., followed by dinner at 7 p.m. and the play at 8 p.m. The dinner, featuring prime rib or Hawaiian chicken, is prepared by Marriott Food Services. The cost is $15 per person. Call 533-8016 for reservations.
‘Robin Hood’
Gonzaga University’s annual children’s show, “Robin Hood (and His Band of Merry Thieves)” opens today at the Russell Theatre on the campus.
This is a musical version of the Robin Hood story, written and directed by Gonzaga senior Dawn Gordon, with music by her sister, freshman Kristin Gordon.
The show runs today and Friday at 7:30 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., and Sunday at 1 p.m.
Admission for children is $3, or $2 and one can of food, and $4 for adults. The food goes to the Spokane Food Bank.
