Defending champion Goran Ivanisevic used a big serve to beat Marc Woodforde and set up a semifinal against Yevgeny Kafelnikov at the Grand Slam Cup.

Ivanisevic blasted 16 aces past the Australian to win 6-4, 6-4. Kafelnikov rallied to outlast Jim Courier, 2-6, 6-4, 8-6.
