Lewiston Stars Commit To Idaho

Sat., Dec. 7, 1996

Quarterback Brad Rice and linebacker Laki Ah Hi, who spearheaded Lewiston High School’s 12-0 season and Idaho State A-1 Division I football championship, have given oral commitments to the University of Idaho.

Vandals head coach Chris Tormey can’t comment on the commitments until the players sign letters of intent. The signing date is Feb. 5.

Meanwhile, Tormey said Friday he expects standout wide receiver Antonio Wilson to return for his senior season.

Wilson had been unsure if he would return because of family circumstances at his home in California.

Also, Idaho defensive standout Ryan Phillips has been chosen to play in two bowl games, the East-West Shrine Classic Jan. 11 at Stanford, Calif., and the Blue-Gray Classic on Christmas Day in Montgomery, Ala.

Quarterback Ryan Fien and defensive end Barry Mitchell are alternates for the Blue-Gray and should learn their status next week.
