Olympic Champ Leads

Olympic champion Alexei Urmanov finished just ahead of fellow Russian Alexei Yagudin in the short program of the Russia Cup men’s figure skating competition. American Michael Weiss was third.

Russian skaters also were leading after ice dance and pairs competitions.

In the pairs competition, 1996 world champions Marina Yeltsova and Andrei Bushkov of Russia placed first.
