Lake City hit its 3-pointers and Cheney hit nothing for an entire quarter.

That, in a nutshell, explains LC’s 67-52 non-league win Tuesday over visiting Cheney.

The Timberwolves (2-3) made 10 of 19 3-point attempts, including 5 of 9 by Gabe Hern. The Blackhawks (3-2) missed all six field-goal attempts during their scoreless second quarter.

Hern, who scored 25, hit 9 of 15 from the floor. Chad Cheeley added four 3-pointers, Sam Stroh six rebounds and Jack Reiswig five assists for LC.

The visiting Bulldogs (4-1) outscored the Rams (0-5) 10-1 in the final 2:45 for the win.

Riverside went scoreless for 4 minutes during the second quarter to fall behind by 16. The Rams rebounded for a 51-49 lead on Ryan Monroe’s driving layup.
