The U.S. soccer team will play in China for the first time, a two-game trip in January to mark the 25th anniversary of the first United States-China summit meeting.

The Americans, 3-1 against the Chinese, will play Jan. 29 at Kunming and Feb. 1 at Guangzhou.

The United States played China three times in 1977 but only once since, a 5-0 victory for the Americans in 1992 at Stanford, Calif.
