Looking for something to do to get the new year jump-started other than spending the day watching college football games on TV, that is?

The Northwest Whitewater Association will stage its fourth annual Only Fools Float on the First, a New Year’s Day float on the lower Spokane River.

All you need is the courage (insanity?) and the proper coldwater gear (a drysuit). They’ll launch about noon from the Sewage Treatment Plant. Spectators are welcome.
