Netanyahu, Arafat Fail To Agree On Pullout
After three hours of intense talks with an American envoy, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat agreed to several major issues Tuesday surrounding pulling Israeli troops from Hebron - but couldn’t close the deal.
Negotiators are expected to resume talks this morning with an eye toward finishing an agreement in the next few days. Hebron, city of 100,000 Palestinians and 450 Jewish settlers, is the last major Arab city in the West Bank still under Israeli control.
