Talks Inch Along On Hebron Withdrawal

Compiled From Wire Services

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu met Friday with Palestinian security officials and spoke by telephone with Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, capping a week of talks on an Israeli army withdrawal from most of Hebron, on the West Bank.

Jibril Rajoub, chief of Palestinian Preventive Security, said Arafat would meet Sunday with Israeli Defense Minister Yitzhak Mordechai as a prelude to a meeting with Netanyahu. “I believe we are very close to completing the agreement,” Rajoub said.
