Nic Fades Down Stretch, Dropped By Dixie, 68-60

North Idaho College was down by only two points with a minute to go Friday night against the Dixie Rebels in a Scenic West Athletic Conference women’s basketball game. But everything fell apart, resulting in a 68-60 loss.

The Lady Cardinals were called for a offensive blocking foul off of a screen that led to a Dixie 1-on-1 conversion to put the game out of reach.

The Rebel’s Marnie Diamond scored 24 points to lead Dixie.

“We just couldn’t stop Diamond in the second half,” NIC coach Greg Crimp said.

NIC led by as many as seven points in the game.

NIC was led by a game-high 26 points from Tanya Kirk, but had no other players in double-figures on the night.

The Cardinals will face Snow College in Epraim, Utah, at 4:30 p.m. today.
