Kasey Ahrens scored 28 on 10-for-12 shooting from the floor and Ryan Monroe hit four 3-pointers on the way to 29 points as visiting Riverside (11-4, 5-2) beat East Valley 77-64 Saturday to tie idle Pullman for second place.

Riverside shot 30 of 49 (61 percent) from the floor. Brad Wilson had five 3-pointers for the Knights (5-11, 2-6).

Anna Getz hit three 3-pointers and scored 23 as the visiting Blackhawks (14-2, 8-0) made the Indians (7-9, 3-5) their 12th consecutive victim, and 18th straight in league. Colville’s Hope Anderson had six rebounds.

Cheney, 39-4 over the last two years, maintained a 2-1/2-game league lead with four games left.

Reagan out for year

Cheney senior post Christine Reagan tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee during Thursday’s win over Pullman and will miss the rest of the season.

Reagan, who averaged nearly 12 points per Frontier League game, suffered the injury while catching a pass during a fast break. There was no contact on the play.

“She’s in shock,” said coach Marty Jessett of the ninth-ranked Blackhawks. “She can’t believe it. We’ve told (the other players) that they’ll have to step up. We hope they’re up to the challenge.”

Freshman Amanda Krogh will start in Reagan’s place.

Jon Chatfield scored 15 of his 19 points in the first half as the visiting Timberwolves (15-4, 7-0) beat the Vikings (7-11, 1-6) and won the Inland Empire League title.

LC made up for last year’s 73-58 loss at the Vikings’ gym. The Timberwolves have won 14 of their last 16. Scott Hoover scored 20 for the winners.
