New faces:

Kirk Hansen has joined Telect Inc. as industrial account manager. Hansen’s responsibilities include developing industrial sales for the company’s control products group. Prior to joining Telect, Hansen worked on a communications project at Washington State University for Johnson Controls.

Lisa McCammond has joined the Pullman law firm of Nuxoll, Libey, Ensley, Esser and Campbell as an associate. McCammond graduated from Gonzaga University School of Law and worked for two years as a law clerk with the U.S. Attorneys office for the Eastern District of Washington.

Two attorneys have joined the Coeur d’Alene law firm of Walker, Rude, Jackson and Daugherty:

Vicki Cade formerly was an assistant public defender for Canyon County, Idaho. Cade’s practice will primarily be criminal defense, divorce, personal injury and workman’s compensation. She received her law degree from the University of Idaho.

Suzanna Graham was a deputy public defender for Kootenai County for two years before going into private practice. Graham will focus primarily on criminal defense, divorce, personal injury and worker’s compensation. She is licensed to practice law in Idaho and Washington.

Claire Hylton, who has 14 years of experience in radio and television, most recently with KREM TV, has joined Cox Communications as a sales and marketing consultant. Hylton will concentrate on advertising and marketing programs for local and regional business.

Tom Berg has joined Specialty Shelving Closet Co. as a full partner. Berg previously worked at U.S. Bank of Washington and Old National Bank for 14 years.

Dawn Wiley Bayman has joined the staff of KSPS Public Television as a producer. Bayman, who has 11 years of experience with KXLY-TV, will assume new responsibilities in development and special projects production.

Tom Wobker has been named director-business development of Pennaluna and Co.’s new expansion program in Spokane. Wobker has broad business experience and holds degrees in journalism and law.

Dr. Philip Cleveland has been appointed clinical medical education coordinator in Spokane for the University of Washington School of Medicine. He will oversee various clinical training programs for medical students, residents and practicing physicians in Spokane and Eastern Washington. Cleveland has been director of the Spokane Family Medicine Residency program for 11 years and will give that up to assume his new position.

Joan Menzies, assistant dean of students at Washington State University in Pullman, has been appointed director of student services at WSU Spokane. Menzies will be responsible for student recruitment, enrollment, financial aid and student life programs. She hold’s a master’s degree in English from California State University at Fullerton.

Jean Campbell, a partner in the Pullman law firm of Nuxoll, Libey, Ensley, Esser and Campbell, has been appointed to the Washington State Bar Association Committee of Law Examiners. Campbell will be responsible for helping to write and grade the summer and winter Washington State Bar examinations. She also has been elected to the executive committee of the creditor-debtor section of the Washington State Bar Association.

Moving up:

Michael Schelstrate has been appointed assistant vice president and manager of compensation and benefits for Washington Trust Bank. Schelstrate has 20 years of experience in human resources management.

Washington Trust Bank has promoted Keith Erhart to assistant vice president. He will continue to manage the bank’s print shop and supply department.

Valerie Hutchinson, legal assistant for the Pullman law firm of Nuxoll, Libey, Ensley, Esser and Campbell, has passed the limited practice officer examination and been sworn in to service. Hutchinson is certified to select and prepare certain documents for real and personal property transactions. She is a graduate of Washington State University.

Starting up:

Dr. Mark Paxton has opened Valley Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at 12109 E. Broadway, Building C. Paxton is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon specializing in cosmetic and corrective surgery.

KXLY-TV has reorganized and developed a Creative Services Department, which merges the production, design and promotions departments. Jim Koone, former promotion and marketing manager, was named creative services director.

Expanding:

The law offices of Howard Michaelsen P.S. have expanded their practice in the area of representation of injured persons and will now accept criminal defense cases in municipal, district, superior and federal courts. Thomas Mix, a graduate of Gonzaga University School of Law, will head the litigation department. Daryl Rodrigues, a Gonzaga University School of Law graduate, will be developing the criminal defense practice. Rodrigues, who also has a master’s degree in psychology, previously represented criminally accused and injured persons in Yakima.

Elected:

Spokane Mental Health has elected new officers and board members: F.W.(Rick) Scammell, president; Michael Herzog, first vice president; Terri Bishop, second vice president; Ned Barnes, secretary; Maria Hernandez-Peck, treasurer; Sally Kleaveland, immediate past president; and elected to the board of directors: Carl Baum, Margaret Bruya, Tim Corrigan, Benita Galland, Phyllis Hilson, Mark Mays, Chris Mikkelsen, and Michael Parisot.

Harvey Meier, president of the Harvey Meier Co., has been elected to the 1996 board of directors of the Institute of Management Consultants Pacific Northwest Chapter as the member-at-large for Washington.

Habitat for Humanity has added five new members to its board of directors: Jess Sexson, Karen Seitz, Mary Ellen Myrene, Dean Moorehouse and Beverlee Numbers.

Jerry Cox, vice president and general manager of Steelman-Duff Inc., has been elected 1996 president of the Inland Northwest Associated General Contractors (AGC). Also elected were: Joe Levernier, Levernier Construction Inc., vice president; Tom Clark, Shea Construction Co., vice president; Bob Haney, Max J. Kuney Co., treasurer. Elected to the board of directors were: Tom Stewart, Frank Gurney Inc.; Kristin Schimmels, North Valley Construction Inc.; William Denholm, B&J Industrial Supply Co.; and Steve Robinson, Acme Materials and Construction Co.
