Events taking place this week at the state Capitol include:
Monday, Feb 5. 1:30 p.m. House Hearing Room C, House Finance Committee public hearing on bill that would provide tax exemptions for process industries, allow cities to use real estate excise tax money to buy environmentally sensitive areas, and limit property tax increases to the rate of inflation.
Monday, 1:30 p.m. House Hearing Room B, House Transportation Committee public hearing on road project funding.
Tuesday, 8 a.m., House Hearing Room C, House Finance Committee public hearing on bills to allow businesses to get tax credits for employee training, and exempt businesses from sales tax on items used for research and development.
Wednesday, 8 a.m., Senate Hearing Room 2, Senate Ecology and Parks Committee public work session on the development and use of environmental technology.
Thursday, Feb. 8., 8 a.m. House Hearing Room B, House Commerce and Labor Committee public hearing on a bill allowing the state to withhold federal income tax from unemployment checks.
Friday, Feb. 9, 8 a.m., House Hearing Room B, House Government Operations Committee public work session on restructuring the Department of Social and Health Services.
